About this Class
Lesson Features
Children discover that sounds and letters can be combined to make words, words can be put together to make sentences and that sentences can be written down for us to read. Students also learn to listen carefully to stories, poems and informational books and to read common words and simple books. Language taught are Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Children develop a basic understanding of numbers and counting. They work on recognizing, grouping, and comparing objects of different sizes, colors and shapes, and identifying patterns. They will learn more simple addition and subtraction problems with the help of a visual aid and counting frame.
Science helps children develop key life skills, including an ability to communicate, remain organized and focused, and even form their own opinions based on observation. Science also helps children develop their senses and overall awareness.
Pendidikan Islam emphasise on theoretical and practical concepts, such as Aqidah, Ibadah, Sirah, Akhlak, Bahasa Arab and Jawi. Only for Muslim children.
Moral studies help children understand and articulate their emotions, learn about living with others, develop ideas about right and wrong and develop prosocial attitudes such as trust, sharing, cooperation and helping others. Non Muslim children will attend Moral class.
Age five is a key year to improve children’s reading skills. At this age, children begin to identify letters, match letters to sounds and recognize the beginning and ending sounds of words. Our reading session will be on a one-on-one session during class by our reading teacher.

Here are some cognitive skills for a five year old:

- Know their address and phone number.
- Recognize most letters of the alphabet.
- Can count 10 or more objects.
- Know the names of at least 4 colours.
- Understand the basic concepts of time.
- Know what household objects are used for, such as money, food, or appliances.
